Yeah usually. Sometimes you need to do toning exercises and use weights when you’re trying to lose on problem areas like that.

yes you will lose fat all over, if you walk fast enought that you work up a sweat or if you jog. Also swimming is also excellent in working your whole body. Swimming is actually better because you can feel the burn as you swim.

Cardio like youre doing, will burn calories and usually trim people’s body fat % down plenty, as long as they dont “plateau” and keep upping the distance they travel. However, if you want to pinpoint the belly and chest, then you should add resistance training to your workout to hit those areas the cardio isnt working on as much as other spots.
BEst of luck!
I would recommend you get Arnold’s book (yes, THAT Arnold) and it’ll give you a great start to a workout routine that will help you work those man-boobs off!
Here’s the amazon link for that book.http://www.amazon.com/Arnolds-Bodybuildi…

Your body burns fat everywhere no matter what exercise you do. You have no control over where you lose it from. You can however, control where you build muscle.

Ugh. I hope Yahoo posts your question on the front page, so we can end this question once and for all.
The point here is that YOU CAN’T SPOT REDUCE. Weight loss and weight gain is an average-body thing; you gain a little or lose a little from everywhere all at once. Your body doesn’t randomly decide where to put the fat based on the day of the week or what you ate. Any cardio will burn calories, and those calories will come from the stores located all over your body.
The reason the “fat” is left around your belly and chest is because those are the areas you’re SUPPOSED to have fat–for cushioning your organs, for insulating and maintaining your body termperature, and for supplying nutrients nearby to your vital organs and muscles (lungs, heart, liver, etc.). Unless you have 0% body fat (which is, plainly, impossible; even marathon runners from kenya have about 10% body fat, and the average person has about 12-14%.).
So to sum up: Yes, any exercise will burn calories from everywhere. Doing situps to remove your gut is ineffective for the same reason. Spot reduction is, in a word, a myth.

Typically, you body has a preference for where it deposits/stores your fat. Have you seen people with bird skinny legs and fat upper bodies? Or slim upper bodies and fat lower bodies? Well, in the same way your body has a preference for depositing fat, it has a preference for holding on to it in those same areas. First on, last off !
Yes. Cardio exercise such as walking and jogging will not spot reduce, it is an all over experience. Cardiovascular exercises does exactly what the name suggests – exercise the heart. This exercise format induces the heart to work harder. Through this type of exercise, it beats faster and harder, delivering an enhanced and increased volume of oxygen/nutrients/overall calorie burning – to ALL cells of the body, while removing CO2/toxins. Think of cooking on low heat (comfortable pace walking), then high heat (quick jogging).
Now with weight training, you might get a mild cardio experience, but you are targeting particular muscles so this is a spot enhancing strategy. However, because the larger muscles such as the legs and arms get very involved in cardio exercises, you will simultaneously be getting the equivalent of a sculpting workout – which explains the tendency to see quicker evidence of toning in those areas as opposed to your mid-section.
I am a former ACE Personal Trainer. I allowed my certification to lapse February of this year because my Real Estate practise is too demanding.
Good luck!

Well i think that only works for the legs and the arms. i would have 2 say try doing sit-ups because walking, joggging, running and cycling alone isn’t gonna work for your stomach.
