I’ve came up with a routine I do at the gym 4 days a week. Will this get me a flat stomach?
- 30 mins cardio (treadmill)
- Abdominal crunches
- Sit Ups
Of course, I do more but I’m just listing the fat burning/stomach working excercises.

Well…you sound like you know a thing or two about what physical activity you must do in order to flatten your belly…However, exercise is only HALF of what you’ll need to do in order to get leaner, firmer abs…In addition to about 30-60 minutes of cardio daily, and about 30-45 minutes of strength training (ab exercises, and other core/total body exercises included) 3-4 times a week–is to modify your diet/eating habits…You’ll need to get your body fat percentage down to about 10% in order to be able to visibly see your abdominal muscles! You’ll need to burn any layer of flab off your ab region, in order to then be able to strengthen those muscles…There is no such thing as “spot reduction”, however, if you work out, AND watch what you eat, and moderate how much you eat–you’ll reap the rewards, and be able to see a noticeable change in your midsection!
Try eating a diet consistent of lean proteins (chicken, eggs, tuna/fish, beans, skim or 1% milk, low-fat yogurt, turkey, & nuts). Also eat plenty of fresh fruit & veggies, as well as whole-grain/wheat versions of your favorite carbs, ie: pasta, rice, and bread…Consume about 500 less calories a day, and you’ll be on your way to acheiving a flatter stomach! I have LOTS of resources on this type of stuff that you should check out!! The following two links (below) will give you advice on what you should eat, some tips & exercises you can do to get that sexy, abdominal core…

Yes, it will, IF you complement that with a low calorie diet. No workout routine is effective on its own without a controlled diet. However, even with a controlled diet you might have to wait about 3 months for noticeable results so persistence is the key.
Good luck and keep it up.
