You are 100% correct. Spot reducing is a myth. Crunches do not burn fat. All they do is strengthen the muscles under the fat. To burn fat anywhere on your body, you must do cardiovascular exercise.

Yes, and if you dont do cardio to burn fat along with it, you can actually end up making your stomach look bigger, instead of flatter.

Kinda, in a way to look at it… I think fat burning is more on the kind of food you eat and not the training and amount of it you do.

yes, but muscles also do burn calories but to burn over all fat as well as, tummy fat, one needs to do both cardio and diet.

Actually, your doing a little bit of both. Your strengthening your core muscles, burning some fat, but the fat is not going to go away from crunches alone. You must do cardio to see the tone of the muscles your straightening.
