Does Running Add Muscle And Burn Fat?
i want to be curvy and not be shaped like a flat chested, no hips boy. because i am a young woman and want to feel feminine. i run a lot. will running build muscle too so i dont just get stick-like legs? i want some shape to me. also, will it burn the fat off my stomach? i tighten up my stomach and twist a little while i run at an angle so i feel it in my midsection. will this work? i’m trying to make myself less flabby, more toned, less saggy, and lean but still curvy.

Running will tone you up but you should also add some weight training to your workout. Gaining more muscle will help boost your metabolism and you’ll burn more fat.

running kind of builds muscle in your legs. not that much. youd be likely to build muscle in your calves.
go to http://www.dailymotion.com and type p90x in the search bar. click ab ripper x. you will lose the flab on your stomach.
if you want to build muscle in your legs do squats and calf raises

You should run for an hour or so 5-6 days or whatever the most days you can handle. Make sure you are getting your heart rate up over like 140. After about 20 minutes of your heart rate raised to that level is when fat start to be burned. As soon as you finish your run immediately get down on the ground and do 3 sets of crunches or sit up or whatever stomach exercise you like. It is important to do right after the run while your heart rate is still elevated so you can possible target your stomach and try to burn fat there too. Also, it would be a good idea to do leg exercises like calf extensions, squats, lunges, ect. to shape your legs up and increase your running ability also.
